What is governance?

What is governance? When advocating for equity and representation in governance, I am referring to governance as a broader concept of influence, power, and decision making. While strengths and passions of all may not be suited to being ‘governors’, understanding governance and how decisions are made is important for all of us.

We also deserve those that choose to be ‘governors’ to not only be qualified, but also be able to bring the richness of lived experiences reflective of our diverse communities. That is how we ensure equitable decisions are made for future generations. So, what is governance to you? What role might you play in governance? Do you know how to take up that role?
